What we do
LIS DATA LLC provides hands-on network security and technical documentation for small and medium medical practices. We work from a complete, tested build and operations method: firewalls, monitoring, retention, backup, endpoints, identity, email, physical safeguards and training, all tied to the HIPAA Security Rule standard each one satisfies.
Our method is written down in full — eighteen policies, twenty-two forms, a twelve-month operational calendar and a test checklist — so you can see exactly what we will deliver and hold us to it.
What we don't do
- Sell "HIPAA certified" products. There is no such thing.
- Give legal advice. We work alongside your healthcare attorney.
- Lock you in. Configurations, credentials and documentation belong to the practice.
- Promise a compliant network in a weekend. A proper build takes weeks, not days.
Your Security Official stays in charge
HIPAA requires a named person in your practice — usually the practice manager — to be responsible for security. They can delegate the technical work to us. They can't delegate the responsibility, and we design our work so they never need to.
We sign a business associate agreement
Any IT provider with access to systems holding patient data is a business associate. We execute a BAA before we touch anything, and we help you track the agreements with every other vendor too.
